Another Exciting Week in Racing

It’s been another exciting week for the Hatch and Ares Racing teams with Baby Guinness and Miss Barty leading the way, along with some very good performances from a number of our other runners. Saturday night in Toowoomba also saw Hatch apprentice Jake Malloy rack up a treble of winners.

In Cairns we had Bondi Beau run in the open 950M race. Going in at $1.60 favorite after his huge run in the Townsville Amateurs Sprint, Beau tracked into the race nicely at the corner, but never really wanted to let down on the Cairns track to finish third. He will have a short let up and target his home track of Townsville next start.

On Saturday we had our three-year-old filly in Baby Guinness win the 1300M QTIS Handicap for our Townsville Stable.  With a 10/10 ride from Lacey Morrison, she was able to lead the whole way and hold off all the challenges. There is another nice QTIS race for her in early January in Townsville. We will then aim her at the big Rockhampton Capricorn Sales Race in April.

Side Hustle also raced in Townsville over 1400M and ran a nice fourth second up. He found the line nicely and looks well set up now for December 20th to run in the BM60 over 1609M at his home track.

In Toowoomba Saturday night we are still scratching our heads on how Wolff Boss never won the BM70 1300M. Jake Malloy had the grey thunder down the middle of the track and he looked the winner until the judge put his number up for second place.

Dalby on Monday saw another brave performance from Reojoan, who looked the winner in the straight before only going down by 1.8 lengths. She looks set to win her maiden pretty soon.

Egalite was having his third career start in the 800M Maiden. The three-year-old also looked the winner but narrowly went down by 0.2 of a length for second place.

Black Whitto was another one to run second for the Hatch team. Alisha Donald had the six-year-old gelding in a good position coming to the turn before taking the inside run along the fence to only go down by 0.8 of a length.

Horse of the moment Miss Barty made it three wins in a row for Lindsay Hatch. Alisha Donald had the Five-year-old mare in fourth position in transit before the turn. In the straight she peeled to the middle of the track to wear them down for another nice win for the team.

Great week of racing, congratulations to all the owners and staff.
