It’s been a month to remember for the first month of the racing year. Our North Queensland Stables landed eight winners, and the Toowoomba Stables had five winners.
On Saturday night Lindsay Hatch had two winners in Toowoomba in Talana and Cole’s Best which took the winning tally to thirteen for the month. With thirteen winners at a 29% winning strike rate, it took Lindsay Hatch to the number one position in the Queensland Provincial Training Premiership and second overall and just two wins behind Tony Gollan for all Queensland horse trainers.
Talana was tough winning the, class 2 over 1300m. Shania Willis did a great job getting the mare home carrying 60kgs. That is now three wins for this mare for Lindsay.
Cole’s Best could not have been more impressive winning at his first ever race start. From the wide gate Justin Stanley had no luck getting him in and the horse had to travel three wide. With a show of arrogance, the horse still rounded the field to win under hands and heels.
This week we have a big team heading to Mackay in North Queensland. Keep an eye on Thursday for our runners in Moktaffy, Circularity, Para Park Chance, Beauty Boom, Fergyliscious and new to the stables in Costner.
